The uses of blogs is endless. In the library a blog could be used for highlighting books, explaining new proceedures in the library or campus, explaining resources available in the library, or share new insights about reading or books in general.
Don't forget about the communicative aspect of a blog. Find ways to use them that will make your readers want to comment on the things you have posted.
